Which gemstone is right for you?
In Vedic astrology a gemstone is chosen to boost a planet that is functionally benefic for your ascendant but currently weak — not simply your favourite colour or birthstone.
Yellow Sapphire (Pukhraj) strengthens Jupiter; Ruby (Manik) the Sun; Pearl (Moti) the Moon; Red Coral (Moonga) Mars; Emerald (Panna) Mercury; Diamond or White Sapphire Venus; and Blue Sapphire (Neelam) Saturn.
Blue Sapphire and Hessonite are considered fast-acting and should only be worn after a proper consultation and, ideally, a trial period.
Always buy natural, lab-certified stones of the recommended weight (measured in ratti) and have them energised before wearing on the prescribed day and finger.
